I’m from Edinburgh but have lived all over the place (New Zealand to Norway) and moved to Muir of Ord from Beauly in 2017. Muir Matters is part of what makes MOO such a great community-focused place and it really is a privilege to contribute to it and be part of this lovely welcoming community!

My family have been based near Tain for almost 40 years, but after being away for study and work, I settled near Orrinside, just outside of Muir of Ord, in 2022. I have a young family and  volunteered to help with Muir Matters to get to know more about the community and enjoy all that Muir of Ord has to offer - there is lots going on to get involved with!

Originally from Rochdale in Lancashire. My dad was Scottish. I  left home at 18 to train as a nurse in Edinburgh, then moved up to Inverness to be a midwife/nurse ( now retired) after I met my late husband Colin who came from Dingwall. I have now lived in the Muir ever since.  The Muir is a great wee community and Muir Matters is a part of that , and I would like to help keep it going .

Originally from Ireland, I came to Scotland from Australia to train as a midwife in Aberdeen. Met my husband Brian and after some travelling we settled here in Muir of Ord. Over the years Muir Matters has highlighted the talented and generous community of Muir of Ord and has been a great source of local information and interesting articles. Long may it continue!

I am originally from Nottinghmashire but moved to Muir of Ord twenty years ago as my Grandfather is originally from Inverness. I grew up in the village attending Tarradale Primary and being a part of many local groups. I have enjoyed reading Muir Matters since i was a young girl and finding pictures of me in it. I am delighted to be a part of it and I hope to help to keep it going.

I’m originally from Belgium and moved to Scotland in 2004 after a successful work placement as a university student. I first lived in Inverness, then Dingwall before moving to Muir of Ord in 2020 with my partner and her son.  By volunteering with the Muir Matters, I hope to get to know a few more people and get more involved with the village.
